From its nascent roots in the 1970s’ tail end, Jamaican Dancehall sound has undergone a remarkable transformation. Initially emerging from Kingston's dancehalls as a stripped-down response to Reggae’s increasingly polished sound, it quickly developed with the introduction of digital production. The early DJs leveraged sound systems and rudiment
